EK Trip 2016

11 March 2016

You know that "last hurrah" your friends have been planning for ages but never really happens? Be it a trip to the mall together, a movie + lunch date out, a theme park adventure, or a summer getaway thing – you've all been raving about the many ways and reasons to just get together and make it happen. Well, today was the day ours finally did, and I had the absolute best time with the most fun people ever.

A little back story: We just recently said our goodbye's to the last year of our Junior High School, which means no more cramming, no more sleepless nights, no more school pressure, no more performance tasks – at least until August. By then, we'll be entering Senior High School already, and as exciting as that may seem (being a brand-new chapter of our lives and all), my friends and I got separated into different sections and academic strands brought by, of course, our own disparate choices and goals in life.

Briefly, it is safe to say that this might be the last time we actually get to spend together as a group, which is really sad because we've all been classmates with one another for the last 4 (and even 10 for some) years. Separation anxiety is indeed slowly becoming a mutual thing among all of us.

If you couldn't tell by the title of this post and the few pictures you've already seen above, we went to EK (Enchanted Kingdom). And if you ought to know as well, I wasn't exactly supposed to go at first because: (a) I was having a hard time convincing my parents to let me go since I just went (to EK) last October and; (b) I needed to prepare for a very important exam the next day. Fortunately, I still managed to turn up at the last minute.

Here we are at McDonald's, waiting for everybody else to show up. The set call time was 9AM, but we ended up leaving by 10-ish anyway. Surprisingly, this actually turned out to be a good thing after all because by the time we've arrived at EK, the park still doesn't open for another hour. Had it been that we left earlier, we'd be waiting outside for at least 2 hours under the blazing heat of the sun. The park schedule on their website badly needs updating – it is very misleading.

From left to right: Migui, CK, Fatima, Me, Aena, and Dandan

By the way, I recently got a GoPro camera, so if you're wondering, that's what we used to take most of the pictures.

As an exception, these two of Dandan and CK were taken using my trusty iPhone 6 camera.

 Me and Julia

Somehow, in the midst of the long queue for Rio Grande Rapids, CK came up with a fabulous pose of his very own, and he wasn't even subtle about it, hahahaha!

This EK trip is exceptionally remarkable for me because while I was accompanied by some of the best people ever, I also finally conquered my little fear of going on the Disc-O Magic. Believe it or not, it was not so scary after all – much to my expectation. Buti na lang.

Overall, I am so glad I winded up going even with all the other things I had originally planned to busy myself with today. Truly, a day spent with friends is always a day well spent.

Have a lovely day wherever you are, take care always, and love lots!
