DIY #1: Long Sleeved Striped Shirt

30 May 2015

A few days before our summer getaway to Korea, I have decided that I'm lacking in the money department and thus, shall not spend too much money on new clothes for the trip. Then I searched for certain pieces from my wardrobe that could do, when altered in some way.

And this long-sleeved shirt was one of things that I really wanted to change a bit.

By taking a good-working pair of huge scissors – you don't want to use bad ones,

I started cutting off the neckline, which was the one thing I really wanted to get rid of.

If you have a similar shirt that you want to DIY as well, you can trim the bottom too to make it cropped. I didn't do that just because this shirt is something I've outgrown from my childhood, so it's kind of already cropped for me now. You can cut or trim the sleeves, too, to turn it into a t-shirt or a muscle tee – whatever floats your boat.

Anyways, here's what it looked like afterwards:

Also, here are the other shirts I've DIY-ed so far.

I think my mom got this from the Disney store because it says so on the tag, but I'm not sure.

I got this shirt from a dolphin show we went to when I was younger. It's black and hot (literally), so I decided to make it a muscle tee to air it up a little.

This is my sister's. I DIY-ed it for her because she liked what I did with the dolphin shirt.

This used to be a really hot (once again, literally) and tight-fitting shirt. I got it from a friend of mine during our 7th Grade Class Christmas Party. I actually wore it on our trip to Universal Studios Singapore last December, and it was surprisingly very comfortable. By the way, those two flaps on the bottom are supposed to be tied up together in a knot if you want to look cute or something.
